Western Trillium
Trillium ovatum
The beloved 'wake-robin' of Northwest woods, opening a single three-petaled white flower above a whorl of three leaves that blushes pink with age. Slow to establish, and best left undisturbed. Leaves are sometimes cooked as greens, though picking them can set the slow-growing plant back for years — better appreciated than harvested.
