Nodding yellow-to-orange bell-shaped flowers (petals less reflexed than Turk's-cap lilies). Up to 20 flowers per stem on mature plants. Wet woodland edges and meadows. The bulb is a traditional potato-like food, dried and ground into flour when better food wasn't available.
