Pale yellow cousin of the more common orange jewelweed. Hollow translucent stems; ripe seedpods explode at the slightest touch. Young shoots are cooked as a potherb; raw plant material is mildly irritating and should be cooked first. Folk remedy for poison ivy and stinging nettle exposure.
