Pearly Everlasting
Anaphalis margaritacea
Clusters of papery, pearl-white flower heads top silvery stems all summer and dry beautifully for arrangements. A tough pioneer of dry, disturbed ground and a host plant for painted lady butterflies. Young leaves have been used as a cooked green, though this is a minor, historical use.
